Dougie Poynter is now on tour with McFly after checking out of rehab
Dougie Poynter's mother Sam Moody wants Frankie Sandford to stay away from her son so he can learn to live without her.
McFly singer Dougie, 23, has just completed a stint in The Priory, which Sam says has helped him to move on from his ex.
?Dougie has taken off his rose-tinted glasses and can see that he was completely wrapped up in Frankie,' she reveals.
'She's the thing that upset him.'
Which is why Sam is adamant that Saturdays star Frankie, 22, needs to keep her distance, so Dougie can 'find that incredible woman he deserves'.
'If she doesn't want to be with him that's her choice,' says Sam.
'He doesn't have to be rude to her but he doesn't have to be her friend.
'That's the worst thing he could ever do.'
