Nielsens: 'Idol' ends Season 10 on a high note

?Not leery of McCreery. Fox's American Idol closed out its 10th season with 29.3 million viewers, 5 million more than last year's finale. Overall, Idol rose 5% from last year.

?Record hoofers. ABC's Dancing With the Stars capped its most-watched season with 21.4 million viewers for Tuesday's finale, up from 18.4 million last spring. And Fox's So You Think You Can Dance returned Thursday with 9.5 million viewers, up from 8.2 million last year, for its biggest start since 2007.

?Before the rose. ABC's The Bachelorette opened its season with 9 million viewers, down a tick from last summer, behind Monday's DWTS performance finale (22.9 million).

?Violins. The season finale of Fox's Glee (11.8 million viewers Tuesday) behind Idol (20.6 million) marked its best showing since March. Less strong: Monday's series finales of Fox's Chicago Code (7.1 million) and NBC's Event (4.9 million).

?Cable finishes. ABC Family's Make It or Break It (1.5 million viewers Monday); Bravo's Pregnant in Heels (613,000 Tuesday); Showtime's Gigolos (164,000 Thursday). TLC's My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding opened with 2.2 million Sunday.

?Sotto voce. NBC's The Voice (8.5 million viewers Tuesday), airing opposite DWTS' finale, shed 2 million viewers from last week.

?Gaga forSNL. The May 21 season finale of NBC's Saturday Night Live, featuring Justin Timberlake and Lady Gaga, drew 9.8 million viewers, its biggest finale since 1996. But the Lady's album-promoting MTV special Thursday claimed only 757,000.

?Not big.HBO movie Too Big to Fail, chronicling Wall Street's meltdown, wasn't rich with 897,000 viewers Monday.
