Reality television star Nicole (Snooki) Polizzi sparked controversy when she was paid $32K to speak at Rutgers University.

Maybe it will be called Snooki's law.

After the reality show star scored a $32,000 payday for speaking at Rutgers University, State Sen. Joe Kyrillos said students at public universities shouldn't have to pay for entertainment ? like the "Jersey Shore" star's appearance ? through mandatory fees.

He said he planned on introducing a law that will allow students to pay for only the events they go to.

The Republican maintained he was sure there were students who were "flat out outraged" by Snooki's appearance at the university ? for which she was paid $2,000 more than Nobel Prize-winning novelist Toni Morrison will be paid for giving the school's commencement speech.

While her advice may have not been that eloquent, Snooki's appearance attracted more than 1,000 students for the talk that Rutgers defended as what the students wanted.

WHY ARE WE SO OBSESSED WITH SNOOKI?

"We have more than 200 events on our campus during the course of the year, everything from scholarly presentations to entertainment," Rutgers spokesman Steve Manas said. "The students canvassed for who they wanted here and had the funds available.

The reality show star, who was recently given her own spin-off show, didn't comment on her ever-fluttering Twitter account about the controversy ? she was a little busy at the Mets' game on Friday afternoon.

"At the mets game!! Wohooo ! Best time of my life ever !" she tweeted.
