Villaraigosa to fly to Chicago for mayoral inauguration

Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is scheduled to begin a three-day trip to Chicago today for Rahm Emanuel's inauguration as mayor.

Villaraigosa is scheduled to attend an inaugural dinner Saturday night and Emanuel's inauguration Monday.

Villaraigosa is scheduled to return to Los Angeles Monday in time to attend an education town hall with Los Angeles Unified School District Superintendent John Deasy at Monroe High School in North Hills.

The trip will be Villaraigosa's fourth in 17 days. He was in Chicago April 28-29 for the National Summit on City Design, in Washington, D.C. last week for meetings on education and transportation and in Sacramento Wednesday to meet with legislative leaders of both parties to discuss education funding.
